Because of equipment problems (Bear's equipment) the current assignment is being extended for an additional week. Please continue to stop by and hopefully there will be new pictures to share in the near future.

Scarlett - Flight

Finally got off my bee~hind and am posting my flight pics.
Acutally, Rob took the bee pics. I don't do bees. :)
Clicking on any pic will make it larger to see.

So technically the dragonfly isn't in flight, but have YOU ever tried to take a pic of a tiny dragonfly in flight? It's hard! They have skinny bodies. Obviously NS worked for them.
The hummingbirds I took back in August while up in my home town.
It was my first experience seeing so many at once in the same place.

The next two pics are from our vacation in Colorada Springs.
Garden of the Gods. Beautiful. Just beautiful. I highly recommend visiting there.
And meeting Amy wasn't half bad either. ;)

This last pic was taken a few weeks ago here from our front lawn.
Someone in the area was getting married. This plane flew around and around.

Scarlett - Reflections

Downtown has tons of old buildings with glass and awesome architecture. I have wanted to take some reflection pics for awhile now. Which is why I decided this should be our next assignment. So Rob drove me downtown today so I could get my first shots. There's still a few buildings I would like to try as well that I didn't get to today.

This one of Rob is interesting to me.
It is a reflection in the glass and notice the ghost image of him.

Of course now that the Cloud assignment is over, we have clouds. LOL...I took this one of the building where I work while we were waiting for the light. Not bad seeing as how it was taken thru the windshield! I loved the way the clouds appeared to be like fire off the top of the building.

Quick update

Hey all, With all that is going on Jan and I are temporarily suspending the challenge part of this blog. Temporary is the key word here, we will resume this in the very near future. For the moment we will post pics as we can so please continue to stop by. I also want to point out a quote I came across reading a forum. It struck me and with the authors permission I am including it as part of our template. At some point I would love to replace the header image (could be a challenge don't you think Jan?) and embed the quote in there.

"It is all about the moment...
once passed... never retrieved...
once captured... never forgotten.

This IS the essence of photography"

Scarlett - Clouds, part two

So on the way home tonight, I noticed we actually had some clouds! Not big puffy ones, but it wasn't just clear blue sky. Yay! I hurried home and dragged Rhett to the front lawn. I laid down on a beach towel and looked up at him. I didn't want any houses in the pic. I also liked the way the sun put a star on his sunglasses.

Scarlett - Clouds

Well, I feel really bad, but Mother Nature just isn't with me for this challenge! LOL...We have had perfect weather with NO clouds for almost 2 weeks now. Just clear blue skies...sorry I haven't been able to do any new pics. Hope it's ok to put up a couple from when I first got my camera back in Feb.

This one was taken on a drive to Davis and I loved the way the clouds were so big and fluffy over this old barn. My dad loved barns and took pics all the time of them..so I had to get this shot in honor of my dad:

This one was taken at the park by the Capitol back in Feb. as well:

And this one was taken this weekend while up visiting my hometown. First clouds I've seen since this challenge started. LOL...sad.

Bear - Something + Clouds

Ok, this one is not part of the assignment. I just couldn't resist taking this as I was walking back to the truck.

Bear - Water, second shots

I really did want a different subject for the water shots today (don't think I could have made that drive), but these let me play with motion effects. Ms. Scarlett and I have both been focusing (no pun intended!) on freezing the water. In my first 2 shots here I did the same. Hopefully you can see the effect of motion in the water in the last 2 today.

These next 2 shots are the same shot with a change in the second that should provide a motion effect.

Scarlett - Water, second shots

Ok, sorry about all the pics this round, but I couldn't help myself. LOL...water is just so intriguing to me. In case you haven't guessed, these were taken in our pool. Keep in mind I was snapping the pics very quickly. I had no idea what kind of pics I was capturing until I viewed them afterwards. If you click on the pic, it will open it much larger for better viewing .

Hmmmm..I see a seal balancing a ball....

The Abyss is one of my all time fav movies....I immediately thought of it when I saw this pic...

I ended up getting several shots of this...but this was the best one in focus. LOL...
